Dubai's hotel landscape is broad and welcomes People of Determination who have special needs. Check out some of Dubai's most popular hotels and their accessibility features.

Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai

Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai (formerly Address Dubai Mall) is part of the premium Kempinski Hotels group, and connects directly to Dubai Mall which is a big plus for shopping fans. The hotel has a step-free building entrance, large elevators, and plenty of space in the lobby and main hotel restaurant. The accessible guest rooms are quite spacious, especially around the bed. The bed height is appropriate and there is a roll-in shower, and grab bars next to the toilet too. Meanwhile, wheelchair ramps lead to the hotel lounge, pool, and private cabanas, as well as to the large fitness area allowing wheelchair users to roll easily between equipment.

Atlantis, The Palm

Located on Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis, The Palm is one of the largest hotels in Dubai with varied attractions and dining options. The lobby, many restaurants, fitness centre, and some pool areas have step-free access. There's also a wheelchair ramp available to reach a private beach. The elevators, accessible guest rooms and bathrooms are quite spacious. The latter have roll-in showers with foldable chairs attached to the wall and grab bars next to the toilet. One of the many attractions here is The Lost Chambers Aquarium which has step-free access and displays that stretch from the ground to the ceiling making it easy for disabled guests to view.

JW Marriott Hotel Marina

Part of the renowned Marriott group, JW Marriott Hotel Marina has a step-free entrance, large elevators to other floors, as well as step-free access to the poolside and spacious fitness area. The accessible guest rooms have beds with an ideal height and plenty of space around them. The bathrooms have roll-in showers and grab bars next to the toilet. We recommend requesting a room overlooking Dubai Marina with beautiful views of the harbour framed by some of the tallest residential towers in the world.

Jumeirah Al Qasr

As the centerpiece of Madinat Jumeirah resort, this hotel features Arabian-inspired architecture and is only a short distance away from some of Dubai's best beaches and the iconic Burj Al Arab. The hotel has step-free access and a large elevator to reach other floors. The accessible guestrooms are a decent size and plenty of space around the bed. The bathrooms have roll-in showers with shower benches attached to the walls. Please note that many of the facilities are spread out over a large area – however the pathways are even and smooth, and encourage guests to explore this charming property.

Grand Hyatt Dubai

Not far from the famous Dubai Creek, the Grand Hyatt Dubai belongs to a great collection of luxury city resorts. With ramps at the hotel entrance, as well as various restaurants and the pool, the hotel is well equipped to welcome people of determination. The lobby, elevators, restaurants, and accessible guest rooms are spacious with bathrooms featuring roll-in showers and grab bars next to the toilet. One of the hotel’s many highlights is the large resort-style pool. Please note that there is no disabled pool lift. However, one part of the pool has roll-in access, while another one has just a few steps descending smoothly into the water.

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

With its iconic 355m-tall twin towers, the JW Marriott Marquis is the world’s second-tallest hotel. Located alongside Dubai Water Canal, the hotel has step-free access to the lobby, various restaurants, and pool area. The accessible guest rooms are quite spacious. The bathrooms have grab bars on both sides of the toilet, a roll-in shower with a handheld shower nozzle, and a chair attached to the wall. Our tip: One of the hotels’ numerous gastronomic offerings is VAULT, a popular lounge on the 71st and 72nd floor with panoramic views of the city.

Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights

Around 10 minutes at walking pace from Creek Park, the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights has step-free entrance and a big lobby with a ramp leading to the check-in desk. There are fairly large elevators, accessible guest rooms, and bathrooms with roll-in showers and foldable chairs attached to the wall. The fitness centre has a step-free entrance, plenty of space and is one of the very few to offer a hand-cycle machine. Our tip: visit the spacious Eve Penthouse & Lounge on the 34th storey, which has even floors all around, while offering stunning views of the skyline and excellent international cuisine.

The Heritage Hotel, Autograph Collection

Located in the centre of Downtown Dubai, the hotel (formerly known as Manzil Downtown) has a step-free building entrance, multiple large elevators to travel between floors, and accessible guest rooms with a decent size and sufficient space around the bed. The bathrooms have grab bars on both sides of the toilet, as well as roll-in showers with handheld nozzles and built-in benches. The poolside can be reached via a wheelchair ramp. Make a reservation for The Courtyard, a popular dining spot offering an Arabesque ambience, a large and accessible al fresco seating area, and traditional Arabic favorites with a modern twist.

Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection

Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection, part of the Marriott group, is a contemporary boutique hotel formerly known as Vida Downtown. The property is conveniently located near to both Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, and has a step-free entrance to the building, some of the restaurants, and spacious pool area. Multiple large elevators make it easy to travel between floors. The accessible guest rooms offer enough space to navigate, including bathrooms with roll-in showers and a handheld shower nozzle and sinks high enough so that wheelchairs users can roll underneath. The fitness centre is also step-free and offers various exercise machines with plenty of space around them.

Shangri-La Dubai

The Shangri-La Dubai lies on Sheikh Zayed Road only minutes away from Downtown Dubai and City Walk. Accessibility features at the hotel include a step-free entrance to the lobby, some of the restaurants, fitness centre, and poolside, as well as spacious elevators. The guest rooms are chic, with bathrooms featuring grab bars next to the toilet, roll-in showers, and shower benches attached to the wall. Closets in the guest rooms have low rods which will benefit guests with limited reach, and the space between the floor and the bottom of the bed is 14cm, which can accommodate some Hoyer lifts.
