For waterpark fans Aquaventure World is an absolute must-see Dubai attraction; the largest waterpark in the world, it's packed with 105 different slides and rides, including some of the highest and fastest in the world. Located next to Atlantis, The Palm, Aquaventure World has become an iconic part of the city's theme park scene.

The waterpark's legendary rides include Medusa's Lair, Shockwave and the River Rapids – its attractions are spread across three towers, and the park also features marine and watersports experiences, animal encounters, private beaches and children's play areas for all ages.

Thrills and activities at Aquaventure

Aquaventure World's most famous ride is probably the Leap of Faith, a 27.5m plunge that carries you through a clear tube surrounded by sharks and rays – although Blackout is known as "the scarier sister" to Leap of Faith. Along with these body rides, there are also water coasters such as Shark Attack where you ride on an inflatable ring, and group rides including Zoomerango.

There's also river rides, cliff-jumps and more, with endless opportunities for splashing about – and for surfers, even a chance to ride the waves. Children must be taller than 1.2m to ride many Aquaventure attractions, but for smaller kids there are plenty more fun options, including the Splashers Kids' Play Area, a maze of kid-friendly tunnels, tubes, slides and climbing frames.

The waterpark also offers animal experiences such as swimming safely with sharks, hand-feeding friendly cow-nose rays, and the park's famous dolphin and sea lion encounters. And when it's time to relax and take a breather, you can enjoy the serene private beachfront, 1km in length and ideal for sunbathing or a leisurely walk.

Helpful information about your visit to Aquaventure

Aquaventure World access is free for in-house guests of Atlantis, The Palm, while daily passes are available for visitors.

The waterpark is open from 9:45am to 6:30pm every day. With more than a hundred rides to choose from, how much time you take at the park depends on how many of them you visit. Bear in mind certain days of the week, especially mid-week, are generally less crowded than others, so aim for these if possible.

Alternatively, you can upgrade your admission ticket with the AquaXpress pass, which gives you access to the fast-track queue for many rides. Note the AquaXpress pass is only available on arrival at Aquaventure World, with a limited number available each day.

Dining at Aquaventure World

Going up and down Dubai’s best water slides at Aquaventure can definitely work up an appetite, so make sure you take a break to eat at one of the restaurants inside the waterpark. Sharkbites and Snappers are family favourites serving international classics like pizza, hotdogs, fried chicken and more, while Barracudas is the main dining hall where you can find options from wagyu burgers to noodles and Indian curries.

You can also head to one of Atlantis The Palm’s eateries like Wavehouse or Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen after your day of aquatic fun.
