Unleash your love for the wild
Spanning 119 hectares of desert plains, driving tracks and greenery-shaded pedestrian walkways, Dubai Safari Park is a must-visit for any animal lover. The park's massive grounds are home to around 3,000 animals which include 78 species of mammals, 50 varieties of reptiles and 111 kinds of birds, amphibians and invertebrates. Explore Dubai Safari Park's various zones and the fascinating experiences that await.
Arabian Desert Safari
The entry point for Dubai Safari Park, guests can experience the natural wonders of the desert at the 60,000sqm Arabian Desert Safari. A 20-minute guided tour will lead visitors through demonstrations of the desert’s ecosystem, facts about the region’s native wildlife, and Dubai Safari Park's role in conserving the desert’s natural beauty. Nature enthusiasts can learn about how the attraction is reintroducing native flora and fauna to the region, including the Arabian oryx and rarely spotted Arabian wolves.
The nearby Kid’s Farm lets families have a hands-on experience, with children of all ages able to get close to the cute and cuddly residents of the petting zoo. You can also feed some feathered friends during dedicated sessions at the Kids Farm Aviary and meet the ultra-cute pygmy goats at the Goat Barn.
Asian Village
A self-guided section, the Asian Village allows guests to experience the natural wonders of the diverse Asian regions as they walk through dense rainforests and lush greenery. The hero animal of this zone is the moon bear, which gets its name from the white crescent-shaped patch on its chest. Expect bright parrots and other exotic birds, plus super-sized snakes in their tropical ecosystem. While here, you can check out an exhibit dedicated to the Indian horned rhinoceros and the famously flame-haired orangutan. This area is also home to the rare and endangered Borneo pygmy elephant, of which there are now only 1,500 in the wild.
Explorer Village
Dubai Safari Park's major draw is the incredible Explorer Village drive, where visitors are taken on a journey through a fully immersive wildlife experience. The hour-long ride makes its way through the grounds where visitors can view cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, antelopes and zebras. You will also drive through the habitat of the rare white rhinoceros, a once-in-a-lifetime sighting of the endangered animals weighing up to 2,300kg. Other highlights include the tiger exhibition – an expansive drive-through area which houses a pride of nine lions and the region’s largest troop of baboons. Finish the adventure with a breathtaking trip over crocodile-infested waters as your vehicle crosses a churning creek.
Al Wadi
All that wildlife spotting is hungry work, so head to Al Wadi to refuel. You will find a range of cafés and restaurants here, with something to satisfy even the fussiest eaters. This area is the park's dedicated chill-out zone, and it's hard not to feel relaxed surrounded by lush greenery, ponds and waterfalls. While here, you will be able to catch a sighting of ducks, peacocks, swans and even pelicans, who have regular visitor feeding sessions that you can sign up for.
African Village
Visit the African Village for the opportunity to see some of the world’s most incredible animals up close. The hero animal in this zone is the African elephant, the world’s largest land mammal weighing up to 6,000kgs. This area also houses a pride of white lions, the only of their kind in the region. Rescued from a South African hunting farm, these extraordinary big cats have found a fresh start under the care of Dubai Safari Park’s already-successful conservation programme, with the park’s first in-house birth welcoming two white lion clubs to the pack. You can also spot flamingos, chimpanzees, lemurs and many more wild animals from the continent here.
