Desert

Lake of Expo

A tribute to the first World Expo in the region
closebackBack
Journey into the desert and enjoy the greenery and views of the free-to-visit Lake of Expo 2020. Located near Al Maktoum International Airport, the area has a lake, trees and sand to resemble the Expo 2020 logo.

A man-made marvel, the site includes walkways to get to the ‘island’ surrounded by water. A bird's-eye view from the top showcases the logo, so if you're flying in or out from Al Maktoum, look out for this extraordinary spot.

Built by the Dubai Municipality, the lake is free to visit and celebrates the fact that Dubai is hosting the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asian region. The first such exhibition hosted by an Arab country, Expo 2020 will welcome 192 countries, plus businesses, multilateral organisations and educational establishments. It takes place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.
