The Courtyard

The Courtyard in Al Quoz has played an incubatory role as one of Dubai’s first steps towards international artistic exposure. Described as a multidisciplinary community centre, the charming and incredibly eclectic art space can host a variety of functions, exhibitions and cultural activities – including performances at the 70-seat Courtyard Playhouse theatre.

The leafy avenue space (also known as 'Courtyard') hosts a number of beloved and homegrown brands, including The COLLECTIVE by Ripe, Astrolabs, TALA Furniture, Balcony 8 and The Kilim Shop – a collection of vintage, weaved goods from Iran. The overall space, including the theatre and photography studio, is available to hire for events and corporate functions. 

The central, namesake courtyard is a work of art in its own right, featuring Greco Roman, classical Egyptian and French facades. Situated inside the courtyard is a table and workshop close by where artists work on their latest pieces. The coffee shop serves as a fitting choice to stop and take a break in between exhibitions. Catch one of the many rotating exhibitions that range from furniture, antiques, photographs and current media.
