Rang Mahal
Dining at Rang Mahal is always a delight. This Indian fine-dining restaurant sits on the fourth floor of JW Marriott Marquis Hotel and serves up specialties from all parts of the country. Each dish is packed with authentic flavours so good that one visit won't be enough.
The venue is palatial, with high ceilings, dark crimson-hued interiors and massive pillars that resemble a stack of traditional metallic pots. Large frames of historical art adorn the walls on one side and ceiling-to-floor windows overlook Dubai Water Canal on the other.
Indian cuisine at its best at Rang Mahal
The team at Rang Mahal does a great job of getting the basics right. Here you'll find favourites like chaat (sweet and spicy street food snacks) and Mangalorean ghee roast prawns alongside tandoori paneer (oven-grilled cottage cheese). Peppered lamb chops is another standout offering from their appetisers section.
For mains, the combination of butter chicken curry, dal makhani and creamy black lentils with a butter-garlic-flavoured naan (flatbread) never fails to impress. However, if you have a more adventurous palate, try the signature baked whole lamb leg with truffle naan. Cap your meal off with a plate of gulab jamun (reduced milk balls) stuffed with Valrhona chocolate or saffron rasmalai.
