Terms of use for Dubai Calendar Application and Website

Welcome to the Dubai Calendar App, Website, and other related platforms (“Dubai Calendar”). The Dubai Calendar is operated by the Department of Economy and Tourism (“DET”), Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, and/or their respective affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively "Dubai DET," “We”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

The following are the rules or "Terms" that govern use of the Dubai Calendar and using its services.

By using or visiting the Dubai Calendar, you ("You", "you" or "user") expressly agree to be bound by these Terms and to follow these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations governing the Dubai Calendar. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Dubai Calendar. We recommend that you print a copy of these Terms for future reference.

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the Dubai Calendar. Please check this page every time you wish to use the Dubai Calendar, to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.

If you violate these Terms of Use, Dubai DET may terminate your use of the Dubai Calendar, bar you from future use of the Dubai Calendar, cancel any services provided to you, and/or take appropriate legal action against you.

Dubai Calendar is the official calendar of year-round events happening in Dubai, where event organisers may list events and promotions, and ticket sellers (“Ticket Sellers”) may offer tickets for such events and promotions for users of the Dubai Calendar to purchase. Dubai DET is an aggregator of tickets for events in Dubai, and carries out ticket payment processing on behalf of the Ticket Sellers. As a user, you use Dubai Calendar and its services at your own risk.

By registering for or using the Dubai Calendar services to purchase tickets from Ticket Sellers (the “Services”), you authorise Dubai DET, through its payment agent, to process payments with respect to your transactions and charge your credit card account. The transaction processing service helps facilitate your transactions with the Ticket Sellers.

The seller of the event tickets is the Ticket Seller displayed on the page on which tickets can be purchased. Users who purchase tickets to events must resolve any dispute or refund claims relating to the ticket purchase price directly with the relevant Ticket Seller in accordance with the Ticker Seller’s Purchase Policy, any other terms and conditions (as may be applicable), and applicable law. 

We may refuse to provide the Services to anyone for any reason and may terminate user accounts or cancel transactions in our sole discretion. We may update, edit and change the Dubai Calendar (or any part of it) at any time in our sole discretion.

You agree that you are only authorised to visit, view and to retain copies of pages of the Dubai Calendar for your own personal use, and that you shall not duplicate, download, publish, modify or otherwise distribute the material on the Dubai Calendar for any purpose other than to review event and promotional information for your own personal use, share links to events and promotional information on social media in your personal capacity, purchase tickets for your personal use, unless otherwise specifically authorised by Dubai DET to do so. You agree not to use the Dubai Calendar for any commercial or business purposes.

The Content and software on the Dubai Calendar are the property of Dubai DET and/or its suppliers or licensors and is protected by copyright laws. We post a legal notice and various credits on pages of the Dubai Calendar, which must not be removed. You must not remove this notice or these credits, or any additional information contained along with the notices and credits.

Content means the Dubai Calendar platforms, including but not limited to the underlying HTML, text, graphics, logos, button icons and images, audio clips, video clips, digital downloads, data compilations (as well as the organisation and lay out of our platforms), software and other content published on our platforms that is made available to you on our platforms.

If you use Dubai Calendar, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your device, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.

You must provide us with true and accurate information when creating an account on Dubai Calendar, and must maintain and update that information as applicable. Dubai Calendar does not make tickets available to children, but only makes them available to adults (aged 21 or older) who can purchase with a credit card or other permitted payment method. If you are under 21, you may use Dubai Calendar only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your account details or password, you must promptly notify us at app@dubaitourism.ae

When using the Dubai Calendar and the Services, you must not impersonate any person or use a name that you are not legally authorised to use. You authorise us to verify your information (including any updated information) in order to approve your use of the Services.

You are responsible for ensuring that all persons who access the Dubai Calendar through your Dubai Calendar account and/or your device are aware of these Terms and other applicable terms and conditions, and that they comply with them.

Dubai DET does not promise or provide any guarantee that the Dubai Calendar will be error-free, uninterrupted, accurate or up to date, nor that it will provide specific results from your use of the Dubai Calendar or from any Content, search or link contained on the Dubai Calendar. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of the Dubai Calendar.

The Dubai Calendar and its Content are delivered on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, and are provided for general information only. The Dubai Calendar and its Content are not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. To the extent permitted by law, Dubai DET disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, Dubai DET disclaims any and all liability for the acts, omissions and conduct of any Ticket Sellers, third party users, other Dubai Calendar users, advertisers and/or sponsors on the Dubai Calendar, in connection with the Services or otherwise related to your use of the Dubai Calendar and/or any services provided by Dubai DET. Dubai DET is not responsible for the products, services, actions or failure to act of any venue, performer, promoter or other third party in connection with or referenced on the Dubai Calendar. Without limiting the foregoing, you may report the misconduct of users and/or Ticket Sellers, third party advertisers, service and/or product providers referenced on or included in the Dubai Calendar to Dubai DET at app@dubaitourism.ae

Dubai DET may decide to investigate the claim and take appropriate action, in its sole discretion.

Dubai DET is the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Dubai Calendar and all materials on the Dubai Calendar. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaty provisions around the world. Dubai DET materials (or those of its licensees) may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way other than as set out in the "Permitted Use" section above, without Dubai DET’s written permission. Except as expressly stated in the limited licence provision of these Terms of Use, Dubai DET does not grant any express or implied right to you under any of its trademarks, copyrights or other proprietary information.

We will terminate the privileges of any user who uses the Dubai Calendar to unlawfully transmit copyrighted material without a license, express consent, valid defence or fair use exemption to do so.

In particular, users who submit content to the Dubai Calendar, whether articles, images, stories, software or other copyrightable material, must ensure that the content they upload does not infringe the copyrights or other rights of third parties (such as privacy or publicity rights). After proper notification by the copyright holder or the copyright holder’s agent to us, and confirmation through court order or admission by the user that the user has used the Dubai Calendar as an instrument of unlawful infringement, we will terminate the infringing users' rights to use and/or access to the Dubai Calendar. We may, also in our sole discretion, decide to terminate a user's rights to use or access to the Dubai Calendar prior to that time if we believe that the alleged infringement has occurred.

The Dubai Calendar may automatically produce search results that reference or link to third party websites on the World Wide Web. Dubai DET has no control over these websites, or the content within them. Dubai DET cannot guarantee, represent or warrant that the content contained in such third-party websites is accurate, legal and/or inoffensive. Dubai DET does not endorse the content of any third-party website, nor do we warrant that they will not contain viruses or otherwise impact your device.

If you make use of any feature that allows you to upload or contribute content to the Dubai Calendar or to make any contact with other users ("Contribution"), you must comply with the content standards set out below.

Contributions must:

• be accurate (where they state facts);
• be genuinely held (where they state opinions); and
• comply with applicable law in any country from which they are posted.

Contributions must not:

• contain any material which is offensive, such as content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
• promote sexually explicit material or violence;
• be likely to upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy another person;
• be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person;
• contain any material that could be harmful to minors;
• harass or advocate harassment of another person;
• involve the transmission of "junk mail", "chain letters", or unsolicited mass mailing or "spamming";
• promote information that you know is false, misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libellous;
• promote an illegal or unauthorised copy of another person's copyrighted work, such as providing pirated computer or device programs or links to them, providing information to circumvent manufacture-installed copy-protect devices, or providing pirated music or links to pirated music files;
• display material violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;
• solicit passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users;
• engage in commercial activities and/or sales; or
• not otherwise contravene any applicable laws

You warrant that any Contribution complies with the above standards, and you will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty. This means you will be responsible for any loss or damage we suffer as a result of your breach of warranty.

Any Contribution will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. You retain all of your ownership rights in your Contribution, but you are required to grant us an unrestricted, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, store and copy that Contribution and to distribute it and make it available to third parties.

We have the right to edit, amend or remove any Contributions in our sole discretion.

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer or device programmes and platform to access the Dubai Calendar. You should use your own virus protection software.

You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to monitor or copy our web pages or the Content contained thereon or for any other unauthorised purpose without our prior expressed written permission.

You agree that you will not use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Dubai Calendar.

You agree that you will not take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.

You agree that you will not copy, reproduce, alter, modify, create derivative works, or publicly display any Content (except to the extent necessary for your own personal, non-commercial use) from our

Dubai Calendar without the prior expressed written permission of Dubai DET.

Illegal and/or unauthorised uses of the Dubai Calendar, including, but not limited to, unauthorised ticket sales, unauthorised framing of or linking to the Dubai Calendar, or unauthorised use of any robot, spider or other automated devise on the Dubai Calendar, will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken, including without limitation civil, criminal and injunctive redress.

You understand and agree that in Dubai DET’s sole discretion, and without prior notice, Dubai DET may terminate your access to the Dubai Calendar, cancel your ticket transaction, remove any unauthorised Contribution or exercise any other remedy available, if Dubai DET believes that the Contribution you provided has violated or is inconsistent with these Terms of Use or the rights of Dubai DET, another User or the law.

You agree that monetary damages may not provide a sufficient remedy to Dubai DET for violations of these Terms and you consent to injunctive or other equitable relief for such violations. Dubai DET may release user information about you if required by law or subpoena, or if the information is necessary or appropriate to release to address an unlawful or harmful activity.

We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so and the following limitations of our liability are all subject to this proviso.

By purchasing a ticket for an event through Dubai Calendar, you agree that you attend the event at your own risk. You and your heirs also agree to release, waive and discharge Dubai DET and any of its associated and affiliated companies, their officers and staff (beneficiaries), from any liability that arises from your attendance of the event and agree that you and your heirs shall not sue or make any claim against the beneficiaries for any loss, damage or injury you incur attending the event howsoever caused.  As stated above, the terms which apply to the purchase of the ticket and the event are the Ticket Seller's Purchase Policy (and any other relevant Ticket Seller terms) and Dubai DET is not part of this transaction. 

Dubai DET will not be liable to you for any damages of any kind arising from the use of the Dubai Calendar, including without limitation any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special or punitive damages, including also lost profits, even if Dubai DET has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This Dubai Calendar is controlled and operated by Dubai DET from its offices in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. If there is any dispute about or involving the Dubai Calendar, by using the Dubai Calendar, you agree that the dispute will be governed and construed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, or your use of or access to this Dubai Calendar of the Services, litigation must be brought in court in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

All ticket prices are stated in United Arab Emirates Dirhams and all purchases are made in United Arab Emirates Dirhams. Tickets can be purchased online using valid Visa and MasterCard credit cards only. Your bank might charge you an additional amount if you are using an international credit card.  Dubai DET only facilitates the payment processing of the purchase of tickets. This means Dubai DET does not sell tickets, set the ticket prices, or determine seating allocations, except under its regulatory capacity.

Once you have submitted payment information online and your ticket purchase is successful, you will see an Order Confirmation page. You will also receive an Order Confirmation and your ticket via email to the email address you supplied on the online booking form or when you registered on the Dubai Calendar app.The information contained in the Order Confirmation is important and you should keep it safely. The Order Confirmation contains a unique Order Confirmation Number which should be quoted in any correspondence and it will be required for you to collect your tickets if you have not received your tickets via email.

If you do not receive an Order Confirmation (in the form of an Order Confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information for any reason (but especially if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information), you may call us at +971 600 55 55 59 during our office hours Sunday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 UAE time; or contact us via email at app@dubaitourism.ae or using the contact us section in the app to confirm that your order has been placed. If it has, we will ensure you get your Order Confirmation. If we confirm that the order was not placed, you may safely reorder online.  We are not responsible for any loss you may incur if you fail to contact us before the event and in due time to remedy the situation.

When purchasing tickets on the Dubai Calendar, you may be limited to a specified number of tickets for each event. This limit is posted during the purchasing process and is verified with every transaction. We do this to discourage unfair ticket buying practices. If you manage to buy more tickets than the ticket limit in any way, your ticket purchase may be cancelled.

When you place an order online, so that we can reduce the instances of fraud, we may contact you for verification and request photo identification. If we suspect fraud for any reason, in our sole discretion, we will cancel the purchase. Note that, as set out in the Terms of Use for the Dubai Calendar, Dubai DET, does not bear the risk of credit card fraud, and if you know or suspect that your card has been used fraudulently we recommend that you contact your bank as soon as possible.

Different combinations of delivery methods may be offered by the Ticket Seller, which may include physical delivery of tickets by courier and box office collection at event venue, email delivery, and delivery through electronic applications. Please refer to the Ticket Seller’s Purchase Policy and any other applicable terms and conditions.

Each method has its own requirements but all methods may require you to produce identification and collect tickets in person.

For any refunds please contact the Ticket Seller directly as listed in the purchasing page. The Ticket Seller will assist you with and be responsible for your refund request. Special conditions apply if an event is postponed or cancelled. Please review the Ticket Seller’s Purchase Policy and contact the Ticket Seller directly for any additional information.
