Dubai Design District (d3)

The city's style set puts its best foot forward at Dubai Design District – better known as d3. This urban development is dedicated to the fashion industry, as well as other types of professional design and in-house design studios, and is also home to a shopping promenade.

With more than half of all major international retailers having outlets in Dubai, and a third of all luxury spending in the Middle East occurring in the region, d3 attracts global fashion houses to set up headquarters alongside new businesses. The result? Local inspiration interacts with international influencers to reach new levels of design.

What to expect at d3

Another major draw of d3 for tourists and residents alike is the hip cafes popping up left and right. Try Mediterranean fare at The Lighthouse, sample Japanese street food at the anime-themed Akiba Dori or enjoy a modern spin on French cuisine at Molecule, where you can rub shoulders with those in the world of haute couture.

The modern hub also offers several commercial and co-working spaces and plays host to regular design-centric workshops and events, often led by internationally renowned industry leaders. Visitors to the district shouldn't miss stopping by The Block – a vibrant recreational facility along the waterfront, featuring a skatepark, basketball and volleyball court, climbing walls and entertainment areas.

Looking for more fun outdoors? Head over to The Walk at JBR for a day of chic shopping and dining, complemented by a seaside stroll.
