Kinoya

Izakaya delights from Dubai's 'ramen queen'
closebackBack

One of the city’s most exciting Japanese hotspots, Kinoya is a dream come true for resident Neha Mishra, fondly known as Dubai’s very own ‘ramen queen’. She started her foodie career with sold-out supper clubs and was the chef behind the @astoryoffood Instagram page, but now she's spearheading her very first restaurant. Loyal fans flock to Kinoya for a taste of Neha's take on izakaya. An informal Far Eastern dining experience, it’s all about good food and good times, with a relaxed, minimalist setting that shines a spotlight on the menu's moreish dishes.

Taking everyday ramen and transforming it to a culinary revelation, everything here – right down to the noodles – is handmade with love, following closely-guarded recipes. The are many highlights to try thanks to the talents of Neha and head chef Masao Kikuchi, including the spicy miso ramen with chicken broth, chilli and garlic with your choice of toppings, and the wontonmen with meaty dumplings. There’s more on offer too – for example, the fried karaage is light and flavourful, while the burnt butter scallops, selection of sushi and sashimi, and stir-fried rice with unagi are also more than memorable.

The casual restaurant has several seating options, so take your pick from the ramen counter, chef’s table, lounge, open dining area, and two popular tatami rooms for private dining. This proudly homegrown gem is a favourite, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.
