This picturesque neighbourhood-style restaurant can be found in the chic Four Seasons Private Residences Dubai at Jumeirah. The space features a pretty outdoor terrace with views of Dubai Canal and a menu highlighting traditional Portuguese dishes, elevated to a high standard.

Service at Lana Lusa is knowledgeable and friendly, while dishes sing with authentic flavours. The décor transports you straight to Portugal, with a lot of input from the nation's artists – including colourful ceramic plates from Barcelos, and copper light fixtures and cork-fashioned menus from Porto decorating the interiors. Lana Lusa also has a vendor spot at Time Out Market Dubai.

Dine like you're in Lisbon at Lana Lusa

If you've walked through the alleyways of Lisbon, you'll find nostalgic scents emanating from the kitchen. The Portuguese proprietor has used her grandmother's recipes to ensure every detail stays true to her home town. Favourites on the menu include salted codfish croquettes, arroz de tamboril (a fish-based rice stew), and a prego steak sandwich.

Don’t miss the utterly moreish Portuguese custard tarts known as pasteis de nata. Regulars often buy a box of the freshly-made flakey treats to take away too. There is also the option to enjoy a casual breakfast at the eatery on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with fragrant cups of coffee and an enticing patisserie and pastry display making it the perfect morning pit-stop.

Check out nearby restaurants including Tan Cha and Roka Dubai.
